Neptunus History: How a yachting enthusiast created a successful brand
In 1970, a Dutch yachting enthusiast decided to create his own boat brand after being unable to find the type of boat he was looking for. Neptunus was born, with the launch of the Neptunus 107, a 37-foot double-keel cruiser. The boat was a huge success, with over 300 sold. Thanks to this success, Neptunus expanded into the European market in the early 1980s. Then, the brand established a production plant in Ontario, Canada, to penetrate the North American market. Since then, all Neptunus models sold in the United States have been built in this Canadian plant. Likewise, Neptunus’ roots are deeply rooted in the Dutch shipbuilding tradition.
