The birth of the Aicon shipyard

The Aicon shipyard was founded in 1999 in Italy by the naval designer Sergio Cutolo.

Cutolo already had a long career in the shipbuilding industry, founding Aicon. Notably, he has worked for big names such as the Apreamare shipyard.

Cutolo’s initial goal in creating Aicon was to combine Italian shipbuilding expertise with advanced mass production techniques to create high quality luxury yachts at competitive prices.

To achieve this goal, he invests in advanced technologies. These include waterjet cutting and the use of composite materials to improve the quality and durability of its yachts. Cutolo has also worked closely with renowned designers and naval architects to create luxury yachts with modern and innovative designs.

The commercial success of Aicon yachts: best-selling models and awards won

The first Aicon yacht models are the Aicon 56 series yachts, launched in 2002. These yachts reach a cruising speed of 28 knots and a top speed of 34 knots.

Over the years, Aicon has expanded its range of luxury motor yachts. These are the new models, ranging from 56 to 85 feet. Some of the most popular boats in the Aicon line include the Aicon 72 and Aicon 75 series yachts.

The Aicon 75 Flybridge yacht was first introduced in 2005 and quickly became one of the brand’s most popular models.

Aicon has also won several awards for the quality of its yachts. For example, the “European Yacht of the Year” award for the Aicon 64 Flybridge in 2007.

Aicon yachts are also regularly presented at international boat shows. Also, they are often featured in several renowned luxury yacht magazines.

As far as best-selling boats are concerned, Aicon has had great commercial success with several of its models. These include the Aicon 56, the Aicon 72 and the Aicon 85. These yachts are sold all over the world. Indeed, the boats are highly appreciated by luxury yacht owners for their quality, performance and elegant design.

Aicon: a strategic development to become a reference in the luxury yacht industry
In 2007, the Ferretti Group acquired a majority stake in Aicon Yachts. However, in 2011, Ferretti Group sold its stake in Aicon Yachts. Since then, Aicon has become an independent company again, under the leadership of Sergio Cutolo.

Also, Aicon develops partnerships with world-renowned designers, in order to perfect the design of its yachts.

In this way, Aicon invests in modern production facilities to improve the efficiency and quality of its production processes. As a result, the company opened a new production facility in Messina, Sicily in 2011.
